Terms

The simple terms

Last updated: October 2026

These terms explain how TheFirstPage works. TheFirstPage is a product of BligGroup (Pty) Ltd, registration number [add registration number], [add physical address] ("we", "us"). By asking us to build your website, you agree to these terms. We've kept them in plain language. If anything is unclear, WhatsApp or email us at hello@thefirstpage.co.za.

1. What we do

We build and look after a simple website for your business. You give us your details, words and photos, and our team builds the site, polishes the words and puts it live. Your plan includes hosting, a security certificate, a contact form, Call and WhatsApp buttons, and a simple CMS so you can change words, photos, hours and prices yourself.

2. Price and payment

3. The 12-month plan and cancelling

Your plan runs for 12 months. We'll remind you between 40 and 80 business days before your year ends. When it ends, you can sign up for another year, or your plan carries on month to month and you can cancel anytime by letting us know in writing (WhatsApp or email is fine).

The Consumer Protection Act also lets you cancel a fixed-term plan early by giving us 20 business days' notice. If you do, we may charge a reasonable cancellation fee for the rest of the term, as the Act allows. We'll always tell you the amount before you decide.

4. Your domain and your content

5. Changes and support

You can change your own text, photos, hours and prices in the CMS anytime. For bigger changes, WhatsApp us and we'll help. Major redesigns or new features may be quoted separately.

6. The 20% review offer

If you choose the 20% offer, you agree to send us a short review video and share your new site with your family and friends within 30 days of going live. We may use your video on our website and social media. If the video doesn't come through, we may bill the difference for the rest of your plan.

7. Free website for a non-profit or charity

Each month we may choose one non-profit, charity or community project to get a website for free. We choose at our discretion, and applying doesn't guarantee a site. We'll agree the details, including how long the free plan runs, directly with the organisation we choose.

8. Keeping your site online

We work hard to keep your site online and secure, but we can't promise it will never go down, for example during load shedding at a data centre or a problem with our hosting provider. We're not liable for indirect losses, such as lost sales, because your site was offline. If we're ever liable to you, it's limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months, unless the law says otherwise.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and let existing customers know about important changes before they apply.

10. The law

These terms are governed by South African law. Nothing in them takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law.

Your personal information is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy (POPIA).
